Online Therapy
Online Therapy has recently become the New Normal due to Covid 19 but I have been providing this for some clients for many years. I offer this as a compliment to face to face Therapy or as a course of treatment itself.
According to the British Pschological Society there is good evidence that therapy can be delivered competently via online platforms or telephone and that it is possible to build up therapeutic relationships that are as strong as those formed in face to face therapy.
I offer Therapy sessions via a number of flexible , secure online or telephone options. The therapy process works in exactly the same way as in face to face therapy with materials and exercises being shares online. This means that you can be talking to me whilst working in real time with relevant material on the screen.
I have found that Online Therapy can be particularly effective when working with Anxiety Disorders such as OCD, BDD, Vomit Phobia, Agoraphobia and Specific Phobias. This is because Exposure Therapy can be carried out both at your home and outside whilst I am communicating with you . This means that I can be virtually present to guide and support you when you are tackling difficult tasks .
At a time when most of us lead busy lifestyles Online Therapy is a good option that will save time and the inconvenience of travelling a long way to see a therapist. You can be in the comfort of your own home and if you travel regularly you can keep up the continuity of your sessions.
On Line therapy is extremely beneficial for clients who live in areas in the UK or abroad where there is no CBT or Specialist treatment for their disorder such as Complex OCD or BDD .
